Top Tips for Wedding Ready Hair!

Ok, so you're 12 month on average away from your wedding…

We’ve just come out of lockdown and your hair is erm needing serious TLC!! Here are some of my top tips for getting your hair ‘Wedding Hair Ready’ for leading up to your big day.

Eat Your Greens!

If you haven't done already - Look at your diet, what you eat can have a major effect on your hair - lots of green veg, fish, eggs, nuts and seeds!

Keep Hydrated!

Sounds simple, but drinking 2 litres of water a day not only helps with strength but it also helps with hair grown, scalp health!

Weekly Conditioning treatments

My most favourite is using natural coconut oil ‘Lucy Bee’ is my go too, it's the most natural product you can put on your hair. Use a teaspoon on wet or dry hair (more if your hair is thick) and leave for 30mins! Also Olapex no.3

Book in your colourist

If your wedding is around 12 months away, this is a good time to start planning/booking in your hair colour appointments. If you do not have colour already maybe think about adding some - you will be surprised of how it compliments a hairstyle.

My recommendation for anyone who hasn't had a hair colour before would be to go for a balayage - its a natural sunkissed look which means you will not have a harsh grow out should you wish to go back to your natural colour after the wedding.

Regular trims, depending on your length of hair (think about where you want this to be on your wedding day). If you are planning to grow your hair my recommendation would be every 10 weeks. If you are trying to maintain your hair length 6-8 weeks.

Invest in good quality products!

A good shampoo and conditioner!

So you’ve just had an amazing hair colour sorted, spent all that money and you’re still using standard shampoo! Time to invest!! My go to recommend is Olapex no.4 Shampoo and no.4 Conditioner. For coloured hair my favourites are Living Proof colour care and Wella colour brilliance shampoo.

I’d also recommend a good heat protection spray prior to styling, my favourite heat protectants/thermal sprays are L'oreal PLI or GHD Bodyguard Heat Protect Spray. This will help reduce breakage

Book your bridal hairstylist! but do your research, think about your wedding day look - does the hairstylist you've chosen fit this?

Hope this helps you girls!

Lots of love x
